Se acabó Gaudí / The end of Gaudí

Año y medio duró la experiencia.Las tres últimas temporadas de la pasarela Gaudí.
Las altas instancias que la subvencionaban decidieron que la enorme inversión que ello suponía no se justificaba...y , sin más, dejó de existir.

Coincidió con la llegada a Barcelona de Bread and Butter. De repente, parecía que Gaudí ya no era necesaria.Se fueron a presentar sus colecciones en Madrid algunos de los mayores talentos catalanes,alguno se fué a París. Curiosamente,la Generalitat valoró el papel de Gaudí como cuna de creadores emergentes y créo 080..una nueva plataforms para ellos.

Yo no toqué a ninguna de las nuevas puertas.
Aunque siempre fuí free- lance,tuve claro que formaba parte del equipo "destronado "...

This experience lasted for a year and a half : the last three seasons of Gaudí catwalk.
Suddenly, the forces that subsidized it decided it was no longer a justifiable investment . And just like that, it stopped happening.
It coincided in time with the arrival of Bread and Butter to Barcelona. All of a sudden,there seemed to be no need for Gaudí. Some of the best catalan talent started showing their collections in Madrid, some tried Paris. Interestingly, the Generalitat acknowledged the value of Gaudí as a nursery for emerging designers and created 080...a new platform, just for them.

I did not knock on any of the new doors. Even though I was always a free- lance, it was clear that I was part of the leaving team.
