Y MODA fue una revista importante en su momento, tuvo un gran impacto .
María Casanovas daba una importancia inusitada a la calidad artística de la fotografía. Por primera vez, no importaba que la ropa se viese, importaba que las imágenes fueran maravillosas. Ella hubiera dicho " fuertes".
A su lado, los mejores fotógrafos del momento : J .M . Ferrater, Javier Vallonrat, Manel Esclusa, Montse Campins, Joseph Hunwick, Reg Corkum, Retamar...
Fué cuna ( o guardería) para muchos de nosotros.
María me hizo un sitio en Y moda. Comencé asistiéndola, pronto me dejó a cargo del estilismo de parte de los redaccionales y también organicé los viajes. Realizamos así varios números de la revista en Egipto, Cuba, Escocia.
Trabajar con María fue la mejor escuela. Con ella aprendí la importancia del concepto al planear un redaccional.Este, para ella, podía surgir de un artista, una película, una canción.
Y moda , en su momento, fue considerada una de las mejores revistas europeas. Duró poco ( 3 años) . No resultó económicamente viable y la editorial la cerró.
María se embarcaría entonces en un proyecto personal : la revista Impar. Yo abrí mi estudio de imagen.

Y moda was an important magazine at the time. María Casanovas took special care of the quality of photography. For the first time, it did not matter if the clothes showed, it mattered more that the pictures were strong.
By her side, the best photographers of the time : JM Ferrater, Javier Vallhonrat, Manel Esclusa, Montse Campins, Joseph Hunwick, Retamar...
It was a cradle ( or nursery school) for many of us.
María made a place for me in Y moda. I started assisting her and soon she left me in charge of styling some of the editorials. I also organised several trips to Egypt, Cuba, Scotland.
Y moda was considered one of the best european magazines at the time. It did not last very long ( 3 years). Financially it did not do so well and the publishers stopped it. María started then her own magazine, IMPAR and I started my own image studio.
